Values (for Amy and the Community - stated as “we”):

Have Fun! We embrace hard work with a sense of joy. By infusing our passion into everything we do, we create environments where efficiency and enthusiasm go hand-in-hand.

Get Stuff Done - We are dedicated to showing up as our best selves for our communities. With clear vision and measurable goals, we focus on achieving results while celebrating our progress along the way.

Honesty is Kindness - We believe that truth fosters understanding and effectiveness. By communicating openly and expecting the same in return, we create a culture of growth that benefits everyone involved.

A Life Letter from Amy Jo - Who I am and what I’m doing…

Howdy 🤠

I’ve got a real passion for people, and while I’m generally enthusiastic about most things, I get absolutely JAZZED when I can help someone learn something about themself that helps them GROW and MOVE forward into the future of their dreams! (Grow…Move… The Growth Movement?)

Many of my values and approach to work were formed growing up on a dairy farm, where I still frequent - it keeps me humble and continues teaching me lessons in life and leadership.

I’m a Purdue Boilermaker, having two degrees from there and spending 10 years as an employee working in 4-H Youth Development, and Undergraduate Student Recruitment and Outreach, where I gained active experience in Advising, Teaching, and Program Development and Management.

Not really professional in nature but important for the movement - In 2015, one of my best friends and I adopted a lifestyle we called “Camp Try New Things” - we started doing the things we always wanted to but wheere we had frequently found ourselves making excuses for why we couldn’t (sound familiar?). I used the CampTNT concept in my work, with my friends, and it changed my life! Over on the About Page you’ll find some photos of the CampTNT crew trying new things!

After 10 years at Purdue, I decided to try something new, and took a leap to an agricultural tech scale-up world, where my leadership helped the company triple its original size in both revenue and headcount. I started in Learning and Development, gained HR experience (and credentials with a PHR Certification) and became instrumental in establishing people development processes, navigating change, and fostering transparent communication and cultural conversations. This time in my life taught me a TON about scaling business and culture, and myself.

Which brings us to where you find yourself today - The Growth Movement. My company, where I channel a passion for helping people, with enthusiasm, to show the value of self-leadership and trying new things to achieve objectives and just straight up win (and enjoy) life. I think the world needs a safe space for people to be honest with themselves and each other on where we are, how we want to be better, and the steps necessary to be better.

After a lot of thinking, praying (I am a person of faith) reflecting and vision casting - it’s time for a movement!

Right now, we are in the growth (see what I did there) stages of what this all might look like - but it’ll have an online community membership option, programs, and more. I’m motivated to help people help themselves - and so excited to build this with all of you.

We can have fun and get stuff done. Let’s do it.

I can’t tell you how glad I am that you’re here - reach out, I’d love to meet you and welcome you to the community.
